ERAM brings HCI research to the international stage at CHI 2026
The Playful Living Lab research group from the Universitat de les Arts ERAM-UdG has participated in the CHI 2026 conference, where it presented the results of its research and collaborated in international innovation networks.
The CHI Conference on Human Factors in Computing Systems is considered the most prestigious conference in the world in the field of Human-Computer Interaction (HCI). Organized by the Association for Computing Machinery (ACM), it serves as a key venue where researchers and professionals from major technology companies such as Google, Microsoft, and Apple present advances that will shape the future of the relationship between people and technology. The publication or presentation of work in this forum is recognized as an indicator of research excellence at a global scale.
In this context, the Playful Living Lab presented four research posters. On one hand, a study focused on Sustainable HCI, exploring how interface design can encourage more sustainable habits and help reduce the digital carbon footprint.
On the other hand, a Bachelor’s Final Project on technology applied to the marine environment was presented, focused on the implementation of sensors and interfaces for environmental monitoring, highlighting the high academic level of the center’s graduates.
Finally, two projects addressed the use of interactive technologies in museum environments, analyzing new forms of interaction in exhibition spaces.
In addition, members of the research group participated in organizing the workshop “Forest-related technologies”, a discussion space focused on the development of technological solutions for the conservation of forest ecosystems and the management of environmental data.
This participation reinforces ERAM’s international presence in the field of research and demonstrates its commitment to innovation and knowledge transfer in high-impact academic and technological contexts.
