Graduated in Performing Arts from ERAM University School – UdG and trained in Classical and Contemporary Voice Performance at ESMUC, Tània Matas has established herself as one of the emerging young voices of the Catalan lyric scene. Born in Anglès, Catalonia, she combines strong musical training with a distinctive stage presence, developing a career that moves between concert performance, opera, and interdisciplinary artistic creation.
Specialized in lyric and coloratura repertoire, she has performed in numerous recitals and young artists’ galas across Catalonia, appearing in renowned venues such as Girona Cathedral, the Crypt of the Sagrada Família, the Monastery of Pedralbes, and L’Auditori de Barcelona. She is the soprano of Quintet Morgen, a chamber music ensemble dedicated to bringing classical music closer to contemporary audiences through innovative formats.
Her artistic development has recently been recognized with First Prize at FestMusic Mallorca 2025, Second Prize at the Verão Clássico International Festival in Lisbon, and an award from the Les Veus del Monestir Lyric Series, which includes a recital at the Monastery of Pedralbes in 2026.
Alongside her concert career, she has refined her craft through masterclasses with internationally renowned artists such as Anna Samuil, Carlos Álvarez, Guy Joosten, and Martina Roos.
In 2025, she made her operatic debut as Alex in Meow and Forever by Jodi Goble, conducted by Salvador Brotons, and as Lady with a Hand Mirror in Postcard from Morocco by Dominick Argento.
Her voice has also been featured in audiovisual and interdisciplinary artistic projects, collaborating in events connected to documentary film and visual arts. She will soon make her debut as Cleopatra in Handel’s Giulio Cesare at the Opera Studio in Trieste, further establishing a career defined by versatility, expressiveness, and a commitment to making classical music accessible to wider audiences.
