Participation of students in the Igualada Showcase 2026
Fourth-year students of the Degree in Performing Arts at the ERAM-UdG University of the Arts carried out a professional activity at the Igualada Showcase 2026.
Considered a key event in the Catalan cultural calendar, the Igualada Showcase serves as a meeting point for creation, exhibition, and industry.
Each year, it becomes a strategic space where companies, programmers, and professionals come together with the aim of giving visibility to stage proposals aimed especially at children and young audiences, while also creating opportunities for projection beyond the local territory.
In this context, the students designed and led a participatory session aimed at young people connected to the performing arts. Over the course of two hours, the activity focused on the challenges faced by emerging creators, such as the pressure involved in artistic decision-making, the impact of digital presence, and the perceived lack of diversity in current stage narratives.
The proposal was structured through various playful and reflective dynamics that encouraged the active involvement of participants, culminating in a shared discussion space. Beyond the content itself, the experience fostered the creation of connections and the exchange of perspectives among young people with common interests within the sector.
This experience reinforces the University’s commitment to applied training, encouraging students to engage actively in real-world contexts and to position themselves as future professionals within the cultural ecosystem.
