ERAM Talent Reaches China Through an Exhibition at Sias University
The work of Martí Gay Hereu and Júlia Alum, students of the Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia, is featured in an international exhibition currently on display at Sias University in Zhengzhou, China.
The posters were created during the Posters Beyond Borders Blended Intensive Programme (BIP), held over the Easter break at the ERAM University School of the Arts.
The exhibition also showcases a selection of research projects from the Playful Living Lab, developed by Professor Ferran Altarriba, alongside several posters created by students from Poland and Denmark who participated in the Posters Beyond Borders BIP hosted by ERAM last April.
The exhibition highlights creativity, research, and international collaboration between universities, bringing together projects that explore social, cultural, and technological issues through graphic design.

Martí Gay Hereu’s poster presents a visual metaphor for the transformative power of education. Inspired by the character of Mary Poppins, the piece associates education with the ability to “give people wings” through creativity and imagination. The work plays with double meanings and irony through the slogan Culture Takes You Higher, reinforcing the idea that culture and knowledge are powerful drivers of personal growth.

Meanwhile, Júlia Alum project focuses on the effects of intensive screen use. Drawing on research into medical studies that link excessive exposure to digital devices with changes in specific areas of the brain, she created a typographic poster featuring the slogan Scrolling Kills Creativity.
The movement of the letters evokes the constant flow of information on a smartphone screen, visually reinforcing the criticism of today’s fast-paced digital consumption. For Garcia, preserving creativity is essential, particularly for the cognitive development of younger generations.
The presence of these works at Sias University further strengthens ERAM’s international profile and showcases the quality of the projects developed by both its students and research groups. At the same time, it consolidates the academic partnerships established with universities across Europe and Asia.
