Being Young, Miquel began to take an interest in drawing, a work that has brought him a lot of satisfaction such as some publications in the magazines Le Potage, official magazine of Girona Futbol Club and collaborations with Intersexciones, Massimo Dutti, Chronicles PSN, among others.
He creates 20Pocos, a serie of comic strips about different subjects every day. Due to this, Miquel is the winner of the comic award Madrid 2010 and nominated as the best online comic for three consecutive years.
Miquel Casals, besides drawing and illustrating, is a graphic designer, motion grapher and director of short films. He currently works at Iglésies Associats, an advertising agency, carrying out Web and Multimedia tasks. He combines his design work, web programming and layout with audiovisual realization. He is passionate about telling stories through drawings and the short films he directs and writes. His third cinematographic work Persuació (2008) was chosen by the Fons de Creació Audiovisual 2008 and after that he made a serie of short films: Fundido a negro (2011), winner of the Best Short Film at 24 Girona Film Festival, 400KM (2014), La Tenacitat d’un Quadre (2014), Vostok (2015), Una tarda con Bolaño (2016) and El viajero (2017).
Miquel defines himself as a very passionate person with his work. “Besides being very self-critical and honest about my job. I always focus the projects with the goal to improve myself.” That is why his work is defined as original, creative and professional.
