Graduated in Audiovisual Communication and Multimedia from ERAM School of Arts – UdG, Carla Jou develops her artistic career under the name Jost Jou, a music project that brings together songwriting, performance, music production, and audiovisual creation. Her practice is defined by an interdisciplinary approach that integrates music and image, building a distinctive creative universe shaped by authenticity, emotional expression, and personal storytelling.
Connected to music from an early age, she trained in disciplines such as percussion and singing, and performed in various musical ensembles before launching her solo project. This background has allowed her to develop an artistic sensitivity that is reflected not only in her songwriting but also in the visual direction and staging of her work.
In 2024, she released MFQM (Més Forta Que Mai), her debut self-produced studio album, developed in collaboration with producer Johnny Migliorelli. The record, featuring an introduction and eight original tracks, blends contemporary pop with influences from electronic music, disco, drum and bass, and urban music.
Her songs explore personal themes of resilience, self-improvement, hope, and emotional strength, transforming individual experiences into narratives with universal resonance.
Alongside her recording career, she has developed her own live performance project and has participated in several platforms dedicated to emerging Catalan music. Her work has been selected for the Sona9 music competition and featured at events such as the Strenes Festival, establishing her as one of the emerging voices of the contemporary Catalan music scene.
She currently combines music creation with audiovisual production, developing projects that connect sound and image through a personal and contemporary perspective. Her work continues to explore new forms of expression within electronic pop while remaining grounded in creative honesty and the development of a distinctive artistic identity.
