Vega Montero Sánchez de las Matas

Trained in double bass and baroque double bass in Spain and the Netherlands, she has developed an international career performing with various orchestras and ensembles, including the RTVE Symphony Orchestra, Orquestra Barroca Catalana, Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, Vespres d’Arnadí, La Galanía, Forma Antiqva, BRock and Holland Baroque, among others. She has taken part in numerous tours and festivals in countries such as the United Kingdom, France, Germany, the Nordic countries and Poland, and has recorded for labels including Anima e Corpo, Channel Classics, Winter & Winter, Pan Classics, Pentatone Classics, La Mà de Guido, Brilliant Classics, Musièpoca and Alpha, over a career spanning more than fifteen years. She has also been invited on several occasions to teach double bass at the Jove Orquestra Nacional de Catalunya (JONC).

As the founder of MAGAM música, she composes music for audiovisual projects, video games, documentaries and multidisciplinary artistic works, and has created several performances for children, presenting them in school concert circuits and at the Mostra d’Igualada. Throughout her career, she has explored the therapeutic potential of music as a tool for inner listening, developing ambient electronic proposals in different formats such as sound journeys, workshops and activities for special education centres.

Between 2022 and 2024, she taught online training courses on music and technology for teachers at AprénOnline. Since 2017, she has also led workshops in primary schools aimed at fostering students’ creativity through electronic music.

In 2026, she completed a Master’s degree in Music Therapy at the Universidad de La Rioja.

She is currently a lecturer at ERAM University School of the Arts (Girona), affiliated with the University of Girona.
