Types in Hollywood

End of degree project

DESCRIPTION

Typographic research on the title credits of the American cinema.

Typography arouses emotions. The way typographers create their designs, gives characters with specific associations that evoke certain feelings. Choosing a typeface is not a matter of personal taste, it is determined by the message to be transmitted. Typography is the first impression when reading. This first impression is well known by cinema producers and directors who, for over fifty years, have been immersing the audience in movies just after the production logotype. This project is a typographic research on the title credits used in the most significant Hollywood movies for each genre. The aim of the study is to define a typography style that represents each genre of the American cinema.
