“El Canal” will coproduce, every year, two of the stage projects taking part in the “Festival Z”
It will be carried out through the new programme “Emergents – Impuls Escènic”, with the goal of supporting and mentoring young and emerging creators.
The companies selected for the 2025 edition of Festival Z are Col·lectiu Alipori and La Ventura, who will receive financial resources, workspaces, and artistic, technical, and production support tailored to each project.
Col·lectiu Alipori with VERECUNDIA
A trio of young creators – Paula Benito, Ainhoa Osuna and Celia García de la Plaza – alumni of the Bachelor’s Degree in Performing Arts, who turn shame into stage material.
In VERECUNDIA, three female bodies explore the limits of ridicule, fragility, and public exposure, playing between intimacy and the external gaze. The project stems from clowning as a language of expression and evolves into an emotional performance where vulnerability becomes the driving force for creation.
With this agreement, El Canal and Festival Z reinforce their shared commitment to detecting talent, professionalizing new stage voices, and ensuring generational renewal in the sector.
The Emergents – Impuls Escènic programme will offer the selected companies financial resources, workspaces, and artistic, technical and production mentoring adapted to each project.
According to Xavi Díaz, Managing Director of El Canal,
“This collaboration allows us to take a further step in supporting contemporary creation in our territory, connecting emerging talent with professional structures like the ones we have at El Canal, with the aim of helping these companies grow. It is a commitment to continuity, quality, and territorial networks, thanks to the agreement and shared vision established with Festival Z since its beginnings.”
For Eva Ferré, Director of Festival Z,
“This agreement is an opportunity to give a future to the projects born within our festival. It is a way to take care of creative processes and ensure that young proposals have spaces to grow and be shared with audiences.”
Throughout the year, the companies will benefit from creative residencies, open showings, and a financial contribution of up to €10,000.
