He holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication from the Escola Universitària de les Arts ERAM – University of Girona (UdG). After completing his studies, he began his career as a freelance illustrator, working on projects ranging from comics and webcomics to video games and animation.
He has taken part in numerous projects, including the webcomics Lucid Lucy, Mi ángel guardián, and Calamari Kebab. He is also the co-author of the comic Soma, written together with Fernando Llor. His talent and distinctive style, which blends adorable elements with unsettling touches, have led him to collaborate with renowned animation studios and companies such as Disney and Netflix, as well as to work on the design and illustration of video games including Cult of the Lamb by Massive Monster Studios, Monster Camp, Genshin Impact, The Binding of Isaac, Wild Frost, and Ankora: Lost Days. He has also worked as a concept artist for the studio We Are Royale.
In 2020, his webtoon Lucid Lucy won second place in the Webtoon short story competition, a recognition that further boosted his career. The following year, in 2021, he was selected to design the official poster for the 27th edition of the Barcelona Manga Fair, consolidating his position as a prominent figure within the field of illustration.
In addition to his work in video games and comics, Carles Dalmau has published the artbook Journey. The Art of Carles Dalmau, in which he explores his creative process and the universe he has built through his illustrations. He currently has more than half a million followers on social media and continues to work on new projects that combine his passion for drawing with visual storytelling.
