Paola Lo Cascio

She is a post-doctoral researcher at the Instituto de Ciências Sociais of the University of Lisbon and a professor of Contemporary History at the University of Barcelona. She graduated in Political Science in Rome (1999), obtained her doctorate in Contemporary History from the University of Barcelona (2005).

Member of the Center for International Historical Studies of the UB (UB-CEHI) since the year 2000, has participated in recent years in various research projects on the history of the twentieth century Spanish. She has been a visiting professor at the University of Cambridge (Fitzwilliam College, 2011), at the Università la Sapienza (Rome 2013) and at the Univesidade in Lisbon (2014). She is the author of various scientific articles and monographs, among them "Nacionalisme i Autogovern" (Afers, 2008), "Economía franquista y corrupción" (with José Manuel Andreu Mayayo and Rúa, Flower of the Wind 2010), "La Guerra Civile Spagnola. Una storia del Novecento" (Carocci, 2013). With Antoni Segura Mas and Alberto Pellegrini she has edited "Soldiers, bombs and rifles" (Cambridge Scholar Publishing, 2013) and recently has been the edition of "Dien Bien Phu" (Yulca, 2015).
