What is the Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication?

It is an official university degree from the University of Girona taught by the ERAM University School since 2001 .

The degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication (GCAM) offers a unique, innovative and differentiating study plan in the field of design, multimedia and audiovisuals.

It is an approved study of the Ministry of Education and Science.

A unique and transversal syllabus

The GCAM curriculum is designed based on three main areas: the idea, the tool, and the expression.

The idea is the area of knowledge.

The tool is the instrumental and methodological area.

Expression is the area of expressive languages.

The curriculum is structured based on these three areas and we can group each of the subjects into one of them.

How many credits are there?

The GCAM consists of 240 ECTS credits (European Credit Transfer System) and is divided into four courses. Credit is the unit of measurement of the academic load of subjects.

In the first two years, general subjects are studied and in the following two specialization subjects. Therefore, during the first and second year, the compulsory (OB) and basic (B) subjects are taken to achieve a transversal knowledge.

On the other hand, during the third and fourth year, in addition to subjects (OB), optional subjects (OP) are taken to achieve specialization according to the itinerary chosen from the 5 offered: cinema, photography , graphic design, interactive design and animation, 3D and VFX.

With this formula we achieve the goal of training multipurpose professionals with an interdisciplinary mentality but whose focus is on specialization.

In addition to the electives included in the curriculum, the ERAM offers students seminars and workshops. This training is optional, and allows students to strengthen their specialization in the chosen field. On the other hand, this offer is being adapted to the needs of the rapid transformation of the sector (new knowledge) and to the demand of the students.

Double degree

After completing their studies, students have the option of doing a Top Up (double degree) at different international universities.

Advantages:

Obtain a double degree, great life experience, a perfect command of the language and delve into the specialization they have previously chosen from the five itineraries: cinema, photography, graphic design, interactive design and animation, 3d and VFX. This way the student will be able to finish specializing in the professional sector of his choice.

A profession of the future

Our sector allows students to get started in the job sector promptly during their student stage through our job market.

This experience, together with the compulsory internships and the advice of the internship tutor, is a guarantee of a rapid job placement of students in the field of the digital economy.

This is reflected in the surveys carried out by the Agency for the Quality of the University System of Catalonia (AQU) which guarantee that the Degree in Audiovisual and Multimedia Communication at ERAM has full employment.
