Production design is one of the key pieces for storytelling in the visual field. In this work, a review of the relationships of this department is done to have an overall idea of its operation. From the origin of the word, the analysis of its responsibilities and the team that works under its influence to understand the role of the production designer. The methodology shows the diversity of functions that develops and value is given to the display tools. Finally, the foundations that are taken into account when creating the design and how they are applied in physical space are explained. From the sets, attrezzo, props and characterisation. From this theoretical framework an art direction will be executed with the tools analyzed.
